IMPRIMA PRODUCTIONS is a boutique film and digital production company lauded for its cogent synthesis of complex ideas and masterful consideration of emotionally charged subject matter.
Our mission is to tell prescient, compelling, wholistic stories with broad appeal about overlooked and marginalized subjects. Stories that reflect both the sometimes hard realities of lives that deviate from normative expectations and the humor and compassion that emerges from one learning to relate to an other.
We believe that truth is inherently beholden to perspective, and that examining and engaging with conflicting convictions adds depth to perception. It’s a tricky game— playing with absolutism through a relativist lens. It’s making movies and shows that unfold layer after layer, such that you'll want to watch them again and again.
ELISABETH AULTMAN is a creative producer with a lifelong passion for social justice and an unmistakable narrative aesthetic. Her recent web projects include Feminist Frequency's Ordinary Women: Daring to Defy History, Seed&Spark's enthusiastic consent series F*ck Yes, and an ongoing PSA project, Rape Joke, that seeks to inject the national conversation about sexual violence with the voices of survivors.
For theaters, she produced on Gabrielle Demeestere's coming of age story YOSEMITE, starring Oscar nominee James Franco, winner of the Slamdance Tangerine Award for women in film, the Nashville Film Festival Women in Film & Television Award, and a Sarasota Film Festival Jury Prize nominee. She recently completed production on Stephane McCanles' upcoming narrative drama, ABUNDANCE, based on the true stories of women-driven pyramid schemes, and post-production work on Salima Koroma's documentary feature BAD RAP, a 2016 Tribeca Film Festival Official Selection about Asian-American rappers. She is also an advisor on eradicaterape.org's #JustSaySorry campaign.
Before turning to the independent circuit, Elisabeth supported production at The Walt Disney Studios' Lucasfilm, Sony Pictures Television, and Paramount Pictures. She holds a JD in Intellectual Property from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law and a BA from Macalester College.
More interestingly: she's accidentally published in academia, coached alternative dispute resolution overseas, run a subversive consent education theme camp at Burning Man, has managed to get her foot above her head in dandayamana dhanurasana, quit coffee, and a broken the same tooth twice.
